Who each is best for
Invoice Simple is a good fit if
- You mostly invoice from your phone and want an app that is already built and in the stores.
- You send only a few invoices a month, so the invoice caps on the lower plans suit you.
- You want features such as photos, signatures, deposits and summary reports, which its plans list at different tiers.
- You are happy to pay a small monthly fee for a focused, simple tool.
PayToMe is a good fit if
- You send more invoices than a three or ten invoice cap allows and would rather start free.
- You want to describe a job in plain words and get a draft, which is the idea behind Via.
- You want customers to be able to receive an invoice and pay from a text message, once that is built.
- You are fine working in the browser and starting on the Free plan at app.paytome.si.
If you need a working mobile app this week, Invoice Simple is the one to use. PayToMe’s mobile app is in development.
An Invoice Simple alternative: where PayToMe is different
Speed, without caps on the free tier
Invoice Simple’s plans are priced by how many invoices you send each month. That is easy to understand but it means a busy month can push you up a tier. PayToMe’s Free plan sets a daily, monthly and total allowance instead: 100 invoices a day, 500 a month and 1,000 in total. The total limit matters, so someone who sends many invoices will eventually need a paid plan, such as Pro at $12 a month.
An AI assistant, Via
Via is designed so that you type or say something like “invoice Maria for the bathroom repair, $450, due in 7 days” and review a draft. It asks when something is unclear and never sends without you. The totals come from a tested invoice engine, not from the AI. See AI invoicing. Via is live in beta, with 50 actions a month on Free, 1,000 on Pro and 5,000 on Business.
Text-to-pay invoices
PayToMe is working on delivering an invoice as a text message with a secure pay link, so the customer taps once instead of opening an email. This is described in SMS invoicing. It is in development and not available today. We could not confirm from Invoice Simple’s pricing page whether it offers text delivery, so check their site if that matters to you.

A mobile app, in development
A mobile invoicing app is in development. Until it exists, PayToMe is a browser-based experience, which is a real disadvantage next to an app built for phones.

Invoice Simple’s subscription page has also advertised a limited-time discount for new subscribers. Promotions change, so check the current price before you buy. The pricing page says prices may vary by local currency.

Switching notes
- Export first. Save your client list and PDFs of past invoices from Invoice Simple, so your records live outside any one app.
- Keep open invoices where they are. Let unpaid invoices finish in the old app, so customers know where to pay.
- Try PayToMe. Sign in to the Free plan, make two or three real invoices and compare the time it takes against the app.
- Move new customers first. Send new invoices from PayToMe, and revisit the mobile app and SMS pay links, which are in development, as they arrive.
- Do not cancel early. If you pay annually, check the renewal date and your plan terms before you cancel.
What we could not verify
Invoice Simple’s own web pages returned an access error to our fetch tool, so we relied on the plan details a search of its official pricing page summarized, and we recommend checking them directly.
